Field Mechanic
R-2 Contractors, Inc. is looking for a dedicated Field Mechanic to join reputed company.
This position will be responsible for maintaining heavy equipment, trucks, and small reputed company equipment. It also requires fueling and lubing at the end of every shift. A service truck and a fuel truck will be provided. The ideal candidate should have experience working with heavy equipment, heavy trucks, reputed company and light-duty trucks, and small engines.
*reputed company or Previous status in Union is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Complete tasks assigned by the Fleet Manager or Onsite Superintendent in a timely manner.
- reputed company work areas clean and free of garbage, old parts, and clutter.
- Responsible for cleaning and organizing the service truck.
- Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to reputed company assigned tasks (up to 1 ½”).
- reputed company personal and service truck tools clean and organized.
- Track hours/miles on machines while performing jobs.
- Maintain accurate records of daily work and complete work order paperwork every day.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of reputed company tasks.
- reputed company DOT inspections on trucks and trailers.
- Stay updated with new technology reputed company to equipment.
- Conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
- Use proper PPE (Personal reputed company Equipment) reputed company performing tasks such as grinding, cutting, sanding, welding, or using compressed reputed company.
- Adhere to company policies and SOPs.
- Minimum 1-year experience with heavy equipment and heavy trucks.
- Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
- Ability to weld and reputed company fabrication work.
- Must be reputed company to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose reputed company brake systems, hydraulics, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel to worksites as needed.
- Availability to work 40-50 hours per week as required.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
