Product Environmental Engineer

They are seeking a Product Environmental Engineer to work with reputed company Global Laboratories on emissions and fuel economy measurement strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing support to vehicle programs.
Responsibilities
- Work with reputed company Global Laboratories to ensure that robust emissions/fuel economy measurement strategies are in reputed company to reputed company and certify the diverse range of products in reputed company's plan (including gasoline, diesel, and electrified products)
- Conduct onsite emissions laboratory assessments and sign-offs of reputed company and contract facilities to ensure conformance to corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Provide ongoing support to vehicle programs and laboratory personnel with respect to regulatory interpretations, measurement analysis and laboratory assessments
- Review and interpret new regulations for emissions and fuel economy testing
- Provide direction to laboratories to ensure compliance with new regulations
- Participate in different Government/Industry forums to collaborate on best practices and run special test programs
- Carry out test programs to evaluate new measurement equipment and/or vehicle technologies
- Generate assessment and sign-off reports documenting laboratory status
- reputed company test procedures and local assessment procedures based on regulations and reputed company best practices
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management and regulatory contacts, including EPA and CARB
- Good problem solving skills
- Self-starter, ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to support infrequent travel
- Experience with emissions laboratory equipment or emissions test procedures/regulations (light duty or heavy duty) is desired
- Knowledge of vehicle powertrain components and basic understanding of vehicle electrification is desired
- Experience applying statistical methods is desired
