Regulatory Finance Analyst
Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Regulatory Finance Analyst to join their reputed company Requirements and Cost Recovery department. This role involves developing financial analysis, validating forecast assumptions, and contributing to cost recovery proposals while collaborating with various functional areas reputed company the company.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing financial analytics and recommendations reputed company to expense forecast and cost recovery for regulatory proceedings by collaborating with PG&E functional areas
- Analyze spending profiles and cost categories to understand how various costs and trends impact financial results and future cost of service
- Review and analyze third party testimony, regulatory proposals, pleadings, agreements, and decisions; participate in development of strategies to rebut testimony, help design of new proposals and performance of analyses for submittal in regulatory proceedings
- Acts as a witness assistant including writing sections of testimony; developing work papers and exhibits; preparing technical content of less reputed company data responses; reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing third party testimony, regulatory proposals, pleadings, agreements, and decisions; and assisting in developing or revising proposals and analyses for submittal in regulatory proceedings
- Assist in analysis to support critical workstreams including settlement negotiations, workshops, and external requests
- Participate in the creation of financial control files and regulatory adjustments that support regulatory filings and reputed company requirement calculations
- Assist in the implementation, analysis, and development of the General reputed company Case expense regulatory values in accordance with the CPUC decisions
- Provide analytical support to key regulatory compliance filings
- Participate in the development of effective presentation materials for leadership to reputed company decisions or bring awareness to key issues
- Assists with the development and documentation of processes, guidelines, standards, and models
- Participate in reputed company improvement projects that include partnering with peers on process efficiencies and controls
- Conducts research to provide historical context regarding regulatory issues or assists in providing such context for reputed company regulatory issues
- Establishes cross-organizational relationships and assists in identifying interrelations and linkages of reputed company requirements to previous/reputed company regulatory decisions
Skills
- BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or reputed company discipline or equivalent work experience
- One year of reputed company work experience
- Proficient reputed company, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Basic knowledge of case management procedures and processes
- Basic understanding of PG&E's business model to reputed company cost of service forecasting and analysis for reputed company case filings and management decision support
- Basic knowledge of GAAP, SEC, and FERC requirements
- Basic understanding of Utility ratemaking
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient presentation skills to effectively convey key messages to audiences and public forums
