The salary for new law enforcement Border Patrol Agents ranges from:

As a career ladder position, you will have opportunities for promotion from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12 after completing 52 weeks in the reputed company grade. There are no educational substitutions for GL-9 or GS-11 grade levels.

Additional Requirements:

• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Residency: Must have primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
• Age: Candidates must be referred for selection before their 40th birthday unless exceptions apply.
• Formal Training: Successful candidates will undergo approximately six months of intensive training at the U.S. Border Patrol reputed company.
