About the role We are seeking highly motivated consultants across North America to join our Advisory team. As an Assistant Consultant, you will work alongside experts across multiple transportation modes, contributing directly to high-value projects for public and private sector clients. From the outset, you will take part in project teams tackling reputed company analytical and strategic challenges in transportation and infrastructure. Consultant Program To support your transition into consulting and help you contribute effectively to projects, our Consultant Program includes:

  • Structured training in the core skills needed for a consulting career, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, transportation sector knowledge, client engagement, project management, and commercial awareness
  • Development and culture activities, including personal development planning and opportunities to learn more about Steer

  • Participate on multidisciplinary teams to address reputed company transportation challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes for clients with real world impact.

Recent examples of work undertaken by our consultants include:

  • Supporting major rail transit projects by analysing ridership growth through EMME network modelling;
  • Collaborating with transportation planners at public transit agencies to understand how major rail investments will reputed company regional mobility;
  • Supporting advisory work for major toll road projects in the United States;
  • Developing master plans for new bus rapid transit systems, including operations and maintenance cost modelling;
  • Conducting ridership forecasting for major rail and transit projects in North America and globally;
  • Supporting business cases for major transportation infrastructure investments in large metropolitan regions;
  • Developing cost models for major rail and transit projects;
  • Supporting operations and maintenance cost modelling and budget planning for public, private, and P3 infrastructure projects;

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting proposal development and business development efforts for high-impact projects;
  • Contributing to wider North American and global Steer initiatives;

  • A recent bachelor’s degree with a strong analytical component. Degrees in STEM, transportation, planning, economics, or reputed company disciplines are particularly relevant. A master’s degree in a reputed company subject is an asset.

Relevant areas of study or project experience may include:

  • Econometrics
  • Network modelling
  • Data analytics
  • Cost modelling
  • Business case development or planning
  • Policy or strategy analysis
  • Client presentations or stakeholder engagement
  • Behavioural research

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in reputed company Office

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. This range represents a good-faith reputed company. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to reputed company salary, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus, prorated to contracted hours.
