About the position Northstar Travel Group is the largest and most trusted B2B travel media and information company in the world. Travel Weekly is seeking a detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven Copy Editor to prepare stories for publication across our digital, print, and e‑newsletter platforms. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, clarity, and performance of our editorial content. This role will split their time between our Rutherford, New Jersey office (2 days) and working remote (3 days). Flexibility is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Edit copy for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to AP and Travel Weekly style while collaborating with writers to resolve questions and improve content
  • Edit and post stories for topic‑based e‑newsletters and create mailings reputed company our e‑letter content management system
  • Rewrite newsletter content reputed company necessary
  • Write headlines and photo captions for print pages and web items
  • Actively optimize article performance through strong use of headlines, captions, summaries, subheads, and other editorial elements
  • Research and craft SEO‑ and GEO‑optimized headlines and modify copy to improve search visibility
  • Monitor articles in the CMS to ensure headlines and metadata are optimized for performance
  • Track story performance metrics and adjust headlines and summaries reputed company appropriate to increase reputed company
  • Participate in print production as needed, including editing assigned pages and distributing digital proofs of news and destination pages for markup
  • Review reputed company copy each Friday before it transitions from print to the digital edition, checking for broken links and other issues

Requirements

  • Two to three or more years of relevant experience editing copy and writing SEO‑optimized headlines
  • Successful completion of the Travel Weekly copy-editing test, demonstrating strong knowledge of AP style
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, including the ability to craft concise, accurate headlines reputed company layout constraints
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices; familiarity with tools such as reputed company Trends or reputed company is a plus
  • Working knowledge of InCopy/InDesign, reputed company Word, and reputed company reputed company
  • Experience with Ektron or another CMS and/or Storyports e‑letter technology is a strong advantage
  • Clear, effective communication skills (written and verbal) and strong organizational abilities
  • Solid interpersonal skills, including sound judgment, self‑discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively with writers and editors
  • Ability to reputed company under pressure and meet aggressive, non‑negotiable deadlines
