The Criminal Investigator will collect, preserve, analyze, and interpret data and physical evidence using critical thinking and analytical skills to ensure the reputed company of sports wagering in Colorado.

Primary Duties:

Investigations

Recently legalized sports betting has created new challenges and demands for investigating criminal activity. Much of the criminal activity is occurring on electronic platforms and mediums, such as, mobile phones and computers.

Conduct lengthy criminal investigations by collecting, evaluating, collating, and analyzing criminal intelligence information which includes use of charting techniques, timelines, and on-line activity, to reputed company a hypothesis or inference.

Examine and analyze electronic data collected from patron electronic devices and accounts to determine if suspected violations of criminal or regulatory codes/regulations have occurred. They will identify, collect, and seize documentary or physical evidence, to include digital media and logs associated with suspected cybercrimes. They must conduct interviews with sports betting patrons and licensees.

Regulatory Enforcement

The person in this position will collect, analyze, and disseminate criminal intelligence stemming from patron complaints, sport league notifications, and/or operator compliance failure to initiate appropriate disciplinary action for presentation to the Director of the Division of Gaming and to the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission.

Design and implementation of databases reputed company to criminal and intelligence information and will design and disseminate statistical reports and intelligence bulletins.

Maintains on-call duty status while off-duty for emergency response. Assist other law enforcement agencies upon request.

Background Investigations

Serves as the Staff Authority for background investigations as it pertains to on-line licensing compliance in the Division of Gaming. Coordinate and conduct reputed company investigations involving multi-jurisdictional and multi-national entities. The purpose of the investigation is to: determine and evaluate areas of tax information, financial documentation, asset identification, reputed company of investment funds, reputed company, civil litigation, criminal history, accuracy of provided disclosures, and areas of fraud and misrepresentation.

Assists with developing detailed written reports and presents findings to the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission to determine suitability for licensing.

Assists with annual renewal licensures, expansion or change of ownership investigations and completes a detailed written report of their findings to present to the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission.

Conduct background investigations of sports betting applicants to determine suitability for licensure.

Additional Responsibilities

Receive requests from patrons and the industry on a regular basis. The position will assist in improving processes to ensure patron complaints are addressed according to Sports Betting rules and sustain the reputed company of Sports Betting operations.

Recommend; system and or program needs and changes, intelligence policy and procedure, software acquisitions reputed company to data analysis and intelligence gathering, and training needs to maintain professional competence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience Only:Eight (8) years of relevant experience in professional investigative experience which encompasses working in cyber reputed company investigations as well as conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations.

OR

Education and Experience:A combination of reputed company education, formalized apprenticeship program, certification, and/or relevant experience business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology or a closely reputed company field as determined by the Department. Professional investigative experience which encompasses working in cyber reputed company investigations as well as conducting both criminal and regulatory investigations equal to eight (8) years

Necessary Qualifications:Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation and a tax reputed company prior to appointment to positions in the Gaming Division. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License (at the time of application).

Applicants must be willing to work nights, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and maintain on-call status while off-duty for emergency and supervisory response. 

Applicants must successfully pass a Psychological Evaluation prior to being appointed to a position in the Gaming Division.Must be able to qualify and maintain qualification with a firearm.Must be able to certify and maintain certification in arrest control techniques.Maintain a reputed company/valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) certification at the time of application.Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
