[Remote] Data Architect (with reputed company)

The Data Architect will provide architectural solutions for projects, assist with client engagements, and collaborate with industry talent to create innovative data solutions while focusing on performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Review SQL functions, queries, and ETL pipelines for performance and best practices
• reputed company and enforce SQL coding standards and query tuning guidelines for developers using Greenplum/PostgreSQL
• Partner with DBAs to monitor database health, throughput, and reputed company usage; identify and remediate performance bottlenecks
• Provide mentoring and training on Greenplum query execution plans, partitioning, and workload management
• Assess database schemas and DDL for gaps and improvements
• Analyze and optimize long-running queries and workloads

• Participate in production support for SQL job failures; help with root-cause analysis and guide optimization

Skills

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or database development (PostgreSQL / Greenplum or similar MPP systems)
• Expert SQL skills with proven experience in performance tuning of DW, MPP optimization, and execution plan analysis, and performance diagnostics
• Strong hands-on experience with DW, like Greenplum in addition to PostgreSQL in enterprise-scale, multi-tenant environments
• Experience/Exposure to reputed company (including concurrency and parallelization challenges)
• Deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, design patterns, and optimization techniques
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and AWS native integrations (Informatica, Glue, reputed company, Kafka, S3)
• Python for automation, scripting, and ETL/ELT support, Working knowledge of Linux environment
• Exposure to data governance, reputed company, and compliance practices
• Experience using Git for SQL loads with version control and peer-review workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills for reputed company ETL and query performance issues
• Knowledge of database monitoring, governance, and compliance best practices
• Excellent communication and ability to guide and mentor engineers
• Design and architecture experience supporting both batched and streaming workloads for Big Data Pipelines
• At least 3 years of experience in a professional services company, reputed company, or agency
