Staff Accountant - AU and UK

We are looking for a skilled accountant with experience in both Australian and UK accounting to join reputed company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with GST, fringe benefits, and other relevant regulations.

This role will be working from home permanently and during U.S. EST business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Australian and UK accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll processing.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, including GST, VAT, corporate tax, and income tax for both Australian and UK jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with fringe benefits tax (FBT) regulations and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audits.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards in both regions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide support and guidance during the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Requirements

Must haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or reputed company field.
  • 2-3 years of proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. accounting positions.
  • Proven experience as an accountant with expertise in both Australian and UK accounting practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of GST, VAT, FBT, and other relevant tax regulations.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
